We begin our story in…an apartment of sorts? …er…well anyway, within this apartment lies a great variety of items that one may think would belong to the former Memebuster known as Golden-Knight. On the walls were large pin-ups of women (…wait, is that one Psylocke from X-Men? Weird…) and on the shelves were stacks of guns, ammunition, explosives, katanas, and many other weapons. On the ground were various stacks of comic books, with…oh no…HIM on the cover…Sitting on a relatively fancy chair in the middle of the room was none other than…Wade Wilson…aka Deadpool. What the frig?!!!

Deadpool turned to the camera, casually holding a gun in one hand, smirking under his mask and announcing, "Hey internets…we've got a story for you to read."

Great…just great…I swear I didn't plan this intro out, he just frigging…(sighs) Ok, so a yellow text box appeared just above his head to the right, accompanied by a voice speaking the lines enclosed in it: "Oooh! Is it one of those fanfictions that pairs me with Spider-Man or is it the one with me and Harley Quinn? Cuz methinks I'd rather this be about a psycho clown chick."

A white text box appeared to the left of his head, speaking with a more dignified tone and responding, "Seriously. Why is there so much of that other pairing lately? It doesn't even make sense! ...but no, I'm pretty sure this is a story about us doing something not completely stupid for once…"

Deadpool shook his head, answering with a buzzer sound effect and saying "Wrong! I'm introducing this latest Memebusters thing Saur has going…even though he still hasn't finished my sidestory, cough cough. Anyway, I'm going to make it seem like I'm actually the one telling you the story, then we'll get a move-on with this super early Halloween two-parter!" He cleared his throat, then pulled out a book, opened it, put on reading glasses over his mask and continued, "Now, let's start by checking up on what's going on with our villains, shall we?"

…is he gone?...Ok, good, I can keep this thing under control in that case…(clears throat) Now then…

Silence looked over the footage again and again, staring at the figure watching the Memebusters from the shadows. He knew they were resourceful, but to be making their move so soon…He would have to look into this. Personally. And to do that, he would need to set up something big enough to keep the focus of that organization away from him and to keep the Memebusters occupied…He pulled up the meme database on the main computer system as his superior and the love of his life, Dreval, stepped into the room.

She walked over to him and looked up at the computer screen, eyebrow raised in surprise. "Oh? Are you actually picking a meme yourself this time?" she questioned him as he searched.

Silence nodded, responding "Indeed…I hope you don't mind, my love."

She smiled at hearing him address her in such a manner, then shook her head, saying "Well no…but mind if I ask why? I mean you were always the one who came up with strategies after I picked…" She raised an eyebrow, continuing in a joking manner, " You aren't trying to usurp my leadership, are you?"

Silence turned to her and shook his head. "Never…but I'm afraid the time I've told you of…" he answered as he gestured to the footage of the stalking silhouette, "…has arrived."

Dreval turned to look at the footage, eyes narrowing as she understood). "…hmph…"

Meanwhile at the Memebusters HQ, a certain darkness had fallen across the land…cobwebs could be found throughout the facility, skeletons were strewn about, and pumpkins with carved faces and sinister flames decorated the area, for this was no ordinary night. This…was HALLOWEEN!!! (insert thunder, evil organ music, and maniacal laughter here). Ah Halloween…the one day where everyone can terrorize the streets, eat tons of delicious treats, and temporarily become a new person/creature entirely. This was a holiday enjoyed by many, with the Memebusters being no exception. They had put quite the effort into decorating the base, as described above, and had all created costumes based off some of their favorite characters for the occasion, a task made easy with the help of Ramai's expertise in cosplay.

Saur was walking by Shade's room whilst adorned in a Lizard costume (as in the Spider-Man villain) when he heard a scream coming from within. His eyes widened as he feared for the worst and dashed inside, ready for battle, only to find Shade dressed in the attire of the Scout of Team Fortress 2 and sitting in front of his laptop next to Dynomy dressed as Mario of…well, Mario, and Giral dressed as the Dovahkiin (Dragonborn in the dragon language) of Skyrim. They both looked up at Saur's surprised face, scratching the backs of their heads – if this were an anime, they would be sweatdropping – in a bit of embarrassment.

"…uh…you guys ok in here?" Saur asked. The three looked at each other, then simply turned the laptop towards him, revealing the visage of a faceless man in a suit standing in the middle of a dark forest, static covering a bit of the screen. His eyes widened as he immediately understood, then continued, "OH! So you're playing Slender, are you? No wonder you screamed like that…that game's like one of the second scariest game I've ever seen…"

Upon hearing this, Shade raised an eyebrow in confusion, asking, "Wait…SECOND scariest? What're you talking about, this HAS to be the scariest thing ever!"
Giral and Dynomy nodded in agreement, but Saur simply shook his head and answered, "Oh no…this game's plenty scary, but it's all about jump-scares, you don't really get any other info about why you're in the forest or anything…trust me, Amnesia: The Dark Descent is true terror…monsters you can't hurt and can barely run or hide from, a deep, immersive story, and tons of suspense and build-up with the plot and ambiance…" Saur shivered at the thought of it. "Definitely not a game you wanna play alone…"

Giral adjusted his glasses and stated, "Well…why don't we have a little contest? We could get someone to play both games and judge on a scale of one to ten how frightening they are, so we can really decide which is scarier…"

Dynomy smiled and clenched a fist, saying "Fine by me, that sounds pretty fun! But who should we get to be the judge…"

The four of them scratched their chins in thought as X, dressed as Sonic the Hedgehog, walked by the room, deep in thought. Just how many memes would they have to deal with in the future? The last one had caused the death of the civilian who had aided them, Nerkod…but what if that were one of the teammates? What if someone had actually been killed in action? He knew that it was their duty to fight against Dreval's forces either way, but he needed to be sure that such things would never happen again…he had been thinking deeply about how to boost their strength to keep this from happening for some time now. He and Saur had been helping each other increase their meme energy, members had been training more often, and 789 even set up some security cameras inside and outside of the base, just in case…but was it really enough?

Feeling several eyes staring at him, he turned to see Saur, Shade, Dynomy, and Giral staring at him, sinister looks on their faces. X noticed the screen on the laptop and quickly put the pieces together, gulping. "…oh, hey guys…wow, would you look at the time, gotta go fast!" He said quickly as he dashed away, true to the character he was dressed as.

Soon enough the quartet gave chase, eventually catching X, dragging him into the room and shutting the door. 789, having witnessed all of this dressed as the Uberhero from Patapon 3, merely shook his head and chuckled as he continued to search the web for any potential meme threats while checking on the security cameras now and then. However, the few moments he wasn't paying attention to the cameras, some of them would turn to static for an instant, revealing a mysterious figure somewhat hidden behind the trees of the park surrounding the HQ who disappeared after a second or so, but getting a bit closer to one of the cameras with each sudden glitch in the device.

Eventually one of them was disabled entirely, drawing 789's attention to it, raising an eyebrow in confusion and wondering aloud "What in the…that's odd…there's nothing in the area that could've disturbed the camera like that…I'd better get someone to check it out soon…"

Meanwhile, Ramai, dressed as Nico Robin from One Piece, was helping out Petal and Chaman with their costumes, making them look as much like Biollante's Rose form (from the Godzilla franchise) and an angel as possible, respectively (Chaman found her outfit to be rather ironic, considering she was one of the best interrogators amongst the group). Lova, dressed as Pinkamena (from MLP…of course, you would KNOW this if you read the other stories, silly audience), was seated nearby with Toon, dressed as Tetra from LoZ Wind Waker, watching TV, as they had just had their costumes completed with Ramai's help as well and were waiting to do some group trick-or-treating.

Petal blushed a bit as she asked Ramai "So…you think Dynomy would like a to see me in a costume like this?"

Ramai nodded as Lova rolled her eyes, as their lovey-dovey behavior towards one another had gotten old pretty quickly for her. She wasn't quite sure why, though…she certainly had her fun watching the other love birds interact. But something about the two of them together just ticked her off lately. Toon had noticed Lova's reactions to these moments lately and had begun to get suspicious…could she have fallen head over heels for two men at once? Maybe…or maybe she actually was just annoyed with this pair in particular for no apparent reason.

Their thoughts were interrupted when they heard manly screams of terror coming from Shade's room, making all of them glance in that direction with curiosity. Frosti, entering the area while dressed as Princess Daisy, stared at the door for a moment, then turned to the other Memebusters nearby, saying, "…er…should I even ask what's going on in there?"

Toon shrugged and relaxed on the couch, responding "Probably not…"

While they were all wondering what was going on in Shade's room, however, they failed to notice that the channel on the TV had changed for a moment, with a small faceless mannequin on the screen in black and white, it's head frantically being moved back and forth while sketches of circles with crosses going through them appeared and disappeared next to it. Just as they returned to what they were doing, however, the monitor became covered in static before they could spot anything out of the ordinary. Lova and Toon raised their eyebrows at this sudden static, attempting to change the channel to no avail.

Cocoa, who had just exited the restroom after putting on his Ike costume (from Fire Emblem) and spotted the TV, turned to 789, stating "Ey, 789? Do you think you could fix the TV? Looks like there's something wrong with it…"

789 scratched his chin in thought. A bit of an interesting coincidence that static would not only had his camera been disabled, but the TV had been as well…he answered, "I don't know…this seems to be related to another problem I'm having. If I could get someone to investigate the disturbance, though…"

As if on cue, X burst out of Shade's room, his face pale from what he had gone through, and quickly said, "As leader, I will be more than happy to take care of this task! If there's something wrong with the cameras, I'll go check them out right away, see ya!" He then dashed over to the secret entrance to the base to get a look around outside.

Saur and the other guys stepped out shortly afterwards, chuckling a bit at X's reactions but still quite scared themselves. "…So…what's going—" Saur would've finished that sentence, had he not seen Chaman's angel outfit, causing him to widen his eyes and blush intensely, thinking that he should've known that Chaman was actually an angel…not realizing that it was a costume at the moment. His reaction caused Chaman to giggle a bit and blush.

THIS pairing caused Lova to smirk in amusement. Of course, when Petal hid behind Ramai in a bit of embarrassment when Dynomy saw her…not so amusing. She was still trying to figure out why when Dynomy raised an eyebrow at Petal's behavior, but blushing a bit at the outfit nonetheless.

As the quartet from Shade's room explained their experiences with X and the rest of the team admired each other's costumes, the noble leader of the Memebusters was just outside the tree that concealed the entrance to the HQ, breathing a sigh of relief.

"Remind me to never let them drag me into something like that again…" He said to himself as he began to search for the cause of the disturbances. He walked over to each of the cameras, examining them methodically…but they all seemed the same. Untouched. Nothing appeared to be out of place, nothing damaged…so what happened? Was it just a glitch? Who knows…either way, the area had certainly turned spooky. Very little light was in the park that night, and a sort of mist had descended into the area…which was odd, as he didn't recall anything like that ever happening before. He began to wonder if it was just a glitch after all. As he turned around to head back into the HQ…he saw it.

Standing in front of X was a tall figure, at least 7 feet tall, probably taller. He appeared to be wearing a black business suit, with very long, skinny arms. Everything about this thing was skinny, oddly enough. He looked up at his face to find…nothing. The being's head was pure white in color, lacking any sort of facial features. Looking at it was like looking into an abyss of pure evil…he began to feel an overwhelming sense of terror, much more than when he had encountered the creature in the video game the others had forced him to play. He wanted to get away or protect himself, but it was as if the terror was keeping him from moving. As this…thing looked down at him, he felt a sudden, throbbing pain in his head, giving him just enough freedom to move his hands up to hold his head as he groaned, then spat out a great amount of blood at once. As he was trying to figure out what was going on, he began to remember…that creature in the video game was originally a CreepyPasta meme, the Slender Man…He would call for his teammates, but he couldn't speak without coughing up more blood. Out of desperation, he figured he'd try using the meme energy to drain some power from the creature, perhaps lessen the strength of the mental assault he was going through, and began to cover himself in meme energy. As the Slender Man merely tilted its head, still refusing to make a move towards X, he opened his mouth wide and began trying to suck in energy from him, Kirby style. The meme stood its ground and straightened its head, as black tendrils began to sprout from his back and enter into the gaping mouth, giving X the energy he so desired. X's eyes widened, as the pain seemed to only grow from doing this until…he blacked out.

The camera that had been disabled spontaneously re-activated. X and the Slender Man were gone.

Also, if you're curious about the game based off of Slendy, here is a rather silly playthrough by characters of another meme, Yu-Gi-Oh Abridged...[link]

Ah...man, sorry if you get problems walking down hallways cuz of that...though yeah, it does get a bit more funny than scary when someone like Pewdiepie plays it.

So, what did you think of the ending?

The ending was...-_- Poor man's work, anti-climactic.

:iconcoronosaur:
Yeah...well, it's certainly a bit lackluster for an ending to such a creepy game...still, that's just one of the endings...
